  1. If ever there was a prime development opportunity, to really regenerate an economic driver in a city, Port Adelaide is it!

The development of old ports and their surrounding areas is a relatively well known formulae in the world of regeneration and the obvious point is that whilst the former use of freight handling has gone, the creation of a place where people want to go for fun is alive and well and just has to be given a push.

This is where government comes in and if the authorities in Adelaide, ‘play their cards right’ they could get the entire area regenerated without the use of public money in the long term. They would however have to spend some money at the beginning of the regeneration process, (they get this back), to act as the catalyst.

  2. I’ve watched the demise of this fantastically rich historically and culturally arra for years. Poor planning, terrible highrise developments and ad hoc infrastructure equals one big communal vacuum!
